Speaker Series Panelists:

Catherine Cassidy- LinkedIn

With over 14 years of experience in the Fashion Industry and an undergraduate business degree from USC, Ustyled CEO Catherine Cassidy has unique blend of business, operations, sales, merchandising and personal styling experience. Her corporate experience is with Nordstrom, Robinsons May and BCBG. In 2008, she launched Ustyled, a style company focused on serving professional women. Streamlined and efficient are two of her favorite words. Easy and effortless are two more. She is incredibly passionate about empowering women through Style and cultivating conversation around what it means to show up as a leader.

Leah Virbitsky - LinkedIn

Leah currently works as a full-time Events & Communications Specialist for the Center for the Study of the Administrative State at Antonin Scalia Law School while working weekends as a Wedding Planner Assistant for Bella Notte Events. Leah is also the Co-Founder of Discover Arlington, a community for young people to connect + engage while having the chance to eat, live and explore in Arlington, VA. As the COO, Leah manages the community outreach, blogging and social media accounts.

In addition, Leah serves as the VP of Membership for the United Women in Business Foundation. As VP of Membership, Leah oversees all membership-related initiatives for the DC chapter including smaller-event execution, recruitment strategy, participation and attendance, and relationship building. Now based in Arlington, Leah loves to spend time cooking new recipes, dancing and traveling on a new adventure as much as possible.

David Bresnahan-McRae - LinkedIn

After completing a Masters of Comparative Politics at the London School of Economics, David moved to Melbourne, Australia to pursue his interest in digital media and public affairs at Haystac Communications. While in Australia he worked on digital campaigns supporting healthcare initiatives for the State Government of Victoria and for the Australian Federal Government. After a year in Australia, he moved to Washington, DC to work as a Manager of Client Strategy, Digital Media in Public Affairs at Social Driver. The most rewarding aspect of his work goes beyond helping clients tell their stories, but creating integrated digital communities around a client's objective.

Derek Rogers - LinkedIn

Derek John Rogers is a Senior Associate Director at Orr Associates, Inc. (OAI), a fundraising consulting firm to the nonprofit industry. In his role, he is responsible for project management and client relations. Before entering the working world, Derek attended The George Washington University School of Business where he received a B.B.A. with a dual concentration in Marketing and International Business and a minor Psychology. While at GW, he was active in AKPsi, Alternative Breaks, and Community Building Community. Originally from Massachusetts, Derek now lives in Columbia Heights and enjoys serving on the board of the Young Nonprofit Professionals Network DC (YNPNdc), training for an upcoming marathon, and visiting a new U.S. state each year.

Moderator: Kevin O’Connell from The Niche Movement

Kevin is a digital storyteller and content creator helping passionate but overwhelmed start-ups and businesses design custom digital marketing strategies so they can achieve their current marketing goals and establish an infrastructure to build a successful business.

With over eight years of experience in the highly visual social media landscape, Kevin has worked with a variety of clients, including George Washington University’s Business School, Lemonade Day DC, and Lost Rhino Brewery creating a social media strategy and capturing dynamic photo and video content. Prior to starting his own company, he worked at Rutgers University building a social media infrastructure and digital media department for their campus wide Recreation division.
